Spring has sprung again! After having cold, cold weather for a few days we’re back into warmer Spring days. Unfortunately, all of those early budding trees had their blossoms killed off but that’s what happens when things warm up too early. Right now the henbit and dandelions are in full bloom and I’ve got a fierce case Spring Fever.
It’s been a slow week on the farm. Dad went from feeling a little under the weather to being full blown sick, he hasn’t done much all week so most of the farm chores have been left up to me (except milking the goats, we all know how well that goes 🙂 ). I’ve had some spare time on my hands since I’ve only been doing the basic chores so I’ve been making garden plans, working on my seed and plant orders (I know I’m a little late on that), and I taught myself how to knit and crochet (with the help of a few YouTube videos).
For my plant order, I’ve ordered two Granny Smith apple trees, one Honeycrisp apple tree, one Golden Delicious apple tree, two Patriot blueberry bushes, two seedless Concord grapes, and two Somerset seedless grapes. And, yes, I still have 175 bare root seedlings to plant. I’m going to have to spend a week planting all these things, stay tuned for pictures of my soon-to-be fruit orchard and persimmon grove. 🙂
Here are some pics that I’ve snapped this week:
One day I caught a coyote stalking the ducks on our pond, in the middle of the day! I ran him off, little stinker.
